Dr. Lisa Hutchens

Dr. Lisa Hutchens moved to Texas in high school, attended college at North Texas State University, and went to medical school at UT Southwestern in Dallas. She completed her pediatric residency in Norfolk, Virginia, then spent 3 years working at the Choctaw Nation Indian Hospital in Oklahoma. While her husband completed his sports medicine fellowship in Birmingham, she was a clinical instructor in the ambulatory care clinic supervising residents and medical students at the University of Alabama Children’s Hospital. In 1991 the family moved to Austin and Dr. Hutchens chose to stay at home and care for her then young children. Since 1996 she has practiced pediatrics part-time in the Austin area.

Dr. Hutchens is board certified with the American Board of Pediatrics and is a member of the Travis County Medical Society, the Texas Medical Association, and the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Hutchens is married to Dr. Mark Hutchens and they have 2 children, Jared and Alana. She enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, and sports.
