Dr. Avni Shah

Dr. Avni Shah was born and raised in Chicago, IL. She graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a BS in Biology and minor in Psychology. She completed her medical school at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and her pediatrics residency at Loyola University where she was given a Magis Star for going above and beyond with regard to patient advocacy. Dr. Shah is also certified with the American Board of Obesity Medicine has a special interest in obesity management in children.

Over the years, she visited Austin several times and eventually moved here in 2013 with her husband. She now has 2 little girls and loves living in Austin, TX. She enjoys spending time with her kids, watching good movies and trying new restaurants.

As a parent, finding a pediatrician who not only possesses the necessary medical expertise but also genuinely cares about your daughter well-being is paramount, since my daughter have high health needs. Dr. Shah exemplifies these qualities and more. Dr. Shah's diligence is apparent in every aspect of care along with her nurse Autumn. Not only does she take the time to thoroughly examine my daughter, but she also involves me in the process, ensuring that I am fully informed and explained in words that I could understand and ask related questions if needed.

Dr. Shah is awesome. Can tell she is very thorough and cares a lot about her job and her kid patients. My wife had been telling me that she’s good, and even if we switch to an uncovered insurance my wife didnt want to switch and i was like she cant be thaat good haha. Luckily we didn’t but that sentiment didn’t really click for me till i brought my daughter here and she was immediately at ease with the doc. Dr. Shah made great recommendations all steeped in research that she is up to date on. Definitely seemed like a doctor that goes the extra mile for her patients and their families.

Dr. Avni Shah is my kids’ pediatrician. She is a wonderful doctor who takes the time to explain what’s going on, and she has immense patience to spend time with my family unlike other doctors who barely spend a few minutes with their patients. My kids look forward to visiting with her when we have our appointments. Thank you for being such a nice doctor, Dr. Shah.
