Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder impacts approximately 1 in 10 children. Our doctors are comfortable in conducting initial evaluations and initiating treatment as necessary, without referring to a neurologist or psychiatrist. ADHD is diagnosed clinically, as there are no specific “tests” for confirmation. We gather input from parents and teachers, along with a comprehensive history; if a diagnosis is established, we carefully weigh the potential benefits of medical intervention. Regardless of whether medical treatment is pursued, our approach focuses on behavioral intervention, academic and emotional supports.
